Music: Camille Saint-Saëns – Fossils
Ahoy Maty! Take your students on an exhilarating Voyage on the High C’s as you explore Fossils by Camille Saint-Saëns. This Exciting Visual Presentation will make students feel like they are part of Captain James’s crew as they search the haunted ship for the missing treasure…Saint-Saën’s Fossils. Never has introducing Fossils and teaching the Rondo form been more fun!
Kids will love the visuals as they “Rattle dem bones” with the skeletons and try the fast body percussion with the Pirate’s Mimic in Section A! In Section B they can tap the stars to the beat as they listen to the skeletons tease the scaredy cat pirates! And who dares to be the Captain for Section C? Visuals of the rhythm patterns, heartbeat and comical visual cues make this Rondo a breeze to teach! Student’s will be introduced to Camille Saint-Saëns and be inspired to learn more pieces from the Carnival of the Animals.
This lesson plan is shared in the Halloween Treats & Taunts Zoom workshop. A great addition to Fossil’s which is found in the Fun with Composer’s Teacher Guide (Gr. 3-7) (Audio & Video files incl.)
